The Virginia College of Emergency Physicians (VACEP), was established in 1970 to represent over 800 emergency physicians throughout the state. Also represented are residents and medical students. VACEP is recognized by elected officials, government agencies, health care organizations, insurers/payors and medical colleagues for their advocacy on behalf of emergency physicians and patients.
VACEP, having recently launched a newly revamped version of their site, found that they were still having several issues. Load time was sluggish, SEO considerations were skipped, and the design itself was buggy and not optimized for mobile users.
Pixelstrike Creative was able to redesign the VACEP.org template altogether, taking into account the different types of content throughout the site, organizing it, and optimizing it for mobile use. We optimized the site images and implemented caching so as to reduce site load times. We also did a considerable amount of SEO work, including writing meta descriptions, creating location listings on Google and Bing, and by formatting the content in a way so that it does not confuse web crawlers/search robots.
VACEP now has a site that provides a modern, up to date web presence that is in line with current web standards and practices. The site expresses who VACEP is, what they do and why it’s important. The mobile and tablet friendly site also offers relevant, current information to users and attracts visitors through effective search engine optimization. On the back end, VACEP is now able to make updates and edits to their own content without relying on web developers for changes. With this newfound control of their own site, they are no longer beholden to costly maintenance fees and expensive hosting through third party companies.
